2021 has been a\u00a0difficult\u00a0year for everyone and with the challenges that continue to lie\u00a0ahead, we thought it important to look back at the more positive memories made.\u00a0Thanks to our staff and our customers\u00a0continued support,\u00a0Quartix weathered the changing storm\u00a0and found\u00a0so many reasons to\u00a0be proud\u00a0this year.\u00a0We\u2019d like to share those with you as we look back at a tumultuous, but ultimately successful 12 months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

20 years of vehicle tracking<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

2021 was a landmark year for Quartix, as we observed the 20th anniversary of our founding on 14 February. Although we couldn\u2019t celebrate together, we marked the occasion by remembering how far we have come and giving thanks to all our staff, sales partners, engineers, and especially our customers who have gotten us here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The end of an era\u2026<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Andy Walters, our founder and then-CEO, announced his retirement earlier this year. Quartix wouldn\u2019t be where it is now without his years of hard work and dedication, for which we are eternally grateful. Andy remains on the Board of Quartix Technologies plc.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

And the beginning of a new one!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In October, we welcomed Richard Lilwall<\/a>, newly appointed CEO. Previously the VP and European Managing Director of Teletrac Navman, a leading international supplier of vehicle tracking and telematics services and systems, Richard brings a great deal of industry experience to Quartix.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI am proud and excited to be joining the team at Quartix,\u201d he says. \u201cHaving spent 20 years in the tracking and telematics business I have observed the success of Quartix over that time. To be joining and leading this organisation is a real honour and I am confident we can continue and accelerate the growth trajectory.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

New system features<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Here\u2019s a roundup of the latest features and reports added to the vehicle tracking system:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The battery status report<\/strong> – you can look at the latest readings for all of your vehicles, a single vehicle or a group of vehicles when they were last stationary and see if the voltage readings are low or even critical.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Geofencing enhancements<\/strong> – now allows you to see which geofences are \u201cactive\u201d and delete inactive ones from the application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New vehicle cameras<\/strong> – a range of new capabilities within our dashcam reports that will make this valuable add-on feature even more beneficial to your business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Temperature monitoring update<\/strong> – now displays real-time temperature data on the live tracking screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Record installation numbers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Quartix was pleased to report good financial results for the first half of 2021<\/a> and a 17% increase<\/strong> in our fleet subscription base over the previous 12 months, surpassing 180,000 vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite the challenges that the\u202fpandemic\u202fpresented, our new\u202ffleet installations\u202fwere\u202f31% ahead\u202fof\u202fthe same period for the previous year\u202f(2020) and, more significantly, 13% ahead of pre-pandemic record<\/strong> (2019) levels, with new installations in international markets exceeding those in the UK for the first time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Andy Walters commented, \u201cWe are grateful to our employees for the way in which they have maintained the growth momentum in our fleet business throughout the pandemic.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Cambridgeshire Leading Business 2021<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Quartix has once again been listed as one of Cambridgeshire Limited\u2019s Leading Businesses<\/a> for 2021. This annual series of business analysis is initiated by Grant Thornton, which provides an in-depth financial analysis of the Cambridgeshire\u2019s 100 largest privately-owned companies based on turnover. It\u2019s a yardstick against which the county can assess its economic performance and businesses can benchmark themselves against their peers. We are honoured to be on the list!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Some friendly faces<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As restrictions eased, we visited industry events for the first time since 2019. We started strong with the ITT Hub 2021<\/a>, where we facilitated the event\u2019s BusHub, a live display of the venue shuttle bus journeys powered by the Quartix vehicle tracking system. Our sales team had a wonderful time meeting customers, and customers-to-be!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
