{"id":34595,"date":"2018-07-12T12:44:06","date_gmt":"2018-07-12T12:44:06","guid":{"rendered":" https:\/\/www.quartix.com\/?post_type=product_update&#038;p=34595"},"modified":"2022-03-18T17:34:37","modified_gmt":"2022-03-18T16:34:37","slug":"updated-privacy-controls","status":"publish","type":"product_update","link":"https:\/\/www.quartix.com\/en-gb\/product-updates\/updated-privacy-controls\/","title":{"rendered":"Updated Privacy Controls"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>We have updated our privacy controls to allow our customers to set multiple times when vehicles are not tracked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the past, the monitoring period could be set for all or part of a weekday (Saturdays and Sundays were treated separately), but only a single period could be set for each day. This update allows multiple periods for each day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When editing the privacy details for a chosen vehicle, you will still need to choose between Standard, Privacy (defined working hours) and No monitoring, however your options for defining the working hours when your vehicle should be monitored have greatly expanded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>If you wish to track the chosen vehicle 24 hours a day, every day, click Standard monitoring.<\/li><li>If you want absolutely no monitoring for that vehicle (for example, if the driver is on holiday and does not want to be tracked), click \u2018No monitoring.\u2019<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\" https:\/\/www.quartix.com\/content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/vehicle-privacy-details.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>However, should you choose to define privacy hours, click \u2018Privacy \u2013 defined working hours only,\u2019 then begin to set the hours you desire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"2\" data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"1\">If you want to track the vehicle every day, but only want to do so during certain hours, use the Everyday option.&nbsp;<\/li><li data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"2\" data-aria-posinset=\"2\" data-aria-level=\"1\">If you want to track the vehicle at different times on the weekday versus the weekend, just set the Weekday and Weekend controls.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\" https:\/\/www.quartix.com\/content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/vehicle-privacy-set-up-002-1000x587.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>For these two options, you will not need to set any other privacy controls, unless you want different hours on certain days.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If your privacy hours vary more than this, you can either:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"1\" data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"1\">Choose to set hours for each day separately; or&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"1\" data-aria-posinset=\"2\" data-aria-level=\"1\">Define your Everyday or Weekday\/Weekend hours, then select the day or days in question and define those specific hours.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If you, for example, need to set alternate hours for Monday, but not for any other day, the other days will default to whatever you chose for either Everyday or Weekday\/Weekend.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\" https:\/\/www.quartix.com\/content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/UK-additional-times-768x439.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>There is no limit to the number of tracking time periods that you can set each day. When one is set, simply click \u2018Add monitoring period\u2019 to add another time for that day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The \u201cTracking Time\u201d column will total the number of hours that have been set to be tracked in the day. This will account for any overlaps, even though those will be excluded when the Update button is clicked. The purpose of this column is to allow you to confirm that the settings you are creating are what you expected.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Monitoring periods cannot overlap and if \u201cUpdate\u201d is clicked then an error message in red will be shown beneath the time boxes where the discrepancy occurred.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As with our current privacy settings, drivers will only be able to tell if they are in a period of monitoring, and when that period will end.
