HR Advisor

We’re looking for an experienced and proactive HR Advisor to join our HR team at our Newtown Headquarters. Reporting to the HR Manager, this is a varied role providing professional HR advice and guidance to managers and employees across the business, while supporting the delivery of a proactive, compliant and high-quality HR service.

You’ll build strong relationships with managers, providing advice on employee relations, performance, absence and people management. You’ll also support recruitment and onboarding, HR operations, compliance and HR projects, while working closely with the HR Administrator to ensure HR processes, systems and documentation are accurate, efficient and effective.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide professional HR advice and guidance to managers and employees, ensuring the consistent application of HR policies and employment legislation.
  • Support managers through disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence management and flexible working processes, escalating complex or high-risk matters where appropriate.
  • Build trusted relationships with managers and coach them on effective people management, helping to develop their confidence and capability.
  • Ensure HR processes, documentation and HRIS records are accurate, complete and compliant with company policies, GDPR and employment legislation.
  • Support payroll processes by providing accurate information for starters, leavers and contractual changes.
  • Monitor HR metrics and produce reports and insights to support effective business decision making.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding and probation processes, working closely with managers and the HR Administrator to deliver a positive employee experience.
  • Contribute to HR projects, policy development and continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to improve processes, systems and ways of working.
  • Provide coaching and knowledge sharing to support the development of the HR Administrator.
  • Act as an approachable and professional point of contact for HR queries, maintaining confidentiality and championing Quartix’s Values at all times.

What we’re looking for

  • Previous experience in an HR Advisor or equivalent HR role, with experience supporting or managing employee relations matters.
  • Good knowledge of UK employment legislation, HR best practice and GDPR requirements.
  • Experience advising and coaching managers on HR policies, procedures and people management.
  • Strong interpersonal, coaching and influencing skills, with the ability to build positive relationships at all levels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy, with confidence using HR systems and interpreting HR data.
  • CIPD Level 5 qualified or working towards the qualification, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Experience supporting organisational change or HR projects would be advantageous.
