Cutting fuel consumption
Belron UK® trades as Autoglass® and Laddaw® and is part of the Belron® Group, the world’s largest vehicle glass repair and replacement company. Laddaw, the whole business of Belron UK, provides a world class service to vehicle glass specialists throughout the UK and Ireland.
The Quartix vehicle tracking system is helping Laddaw® to significantly reduce its fuel costs. The system, which is installed in 78 vehicles – mostly Mercedes Sprinters – has reduced fuel consumption by 8 per cent.
Phil Humble, Laddaw® regional operations manager, likes the system’s ease of use and effectiveness, its range of reports and their clarity. And above all he welcomes its ability to reduce fuel costs and monitor driving style.

Improving safety
Laddaw® was attracted to vehicle tracking by its reputation for cutting costs, and carefully considered four systems before deciding on Quartix. The reasons were: no long-term contract, transparent pricing, simplicity, good service, and being aware Laddaw® was dealing with a financially sound company.
Since equipping its fleet in January 2012, the company has seen the Quartix system not only achieve big fuel savings but also improve the health and safety of its mobile workforce, dramatically reduce instances of speeding, and eliminate unauthorised use of company vehicles. Laddaw® was also impressed with the smooth installation process.
Cherry Waterfield, purchasing manager indirect goods and services, commented: “Quartix ensured it was quick, simple and well organised.” Laddaw® operates from 17 sites: already, 15 have recorded reduced fuel usage. Tim Holland, head of purchasing and inventory, said: “All in all, the project has been a great success.”
