Based in Cambridgeshire
Quartix is recruiting an Electronic Product Test / Development Engineer to help in the development, design and testing of new telematics hardware. You will be involved in a broad range of activities including hardware / software development related to factory production testing, debugging production related issues, new product testing (design verification, compliance testing) and also, the design validation / in-vehicle performance testing.
Key requirements
- 5+ years practical experience in electronic circuit / systems design
- Good understanding of embedded software development
- Practical experience of using test equipment such as oscilloscopes and logic analysers
- Must have access to a car and a full driving license
The role
- Supporting the development and testing of telematics products
- Development of production test software, design / construction of test hardware including the interface to existing instrumentation
- Assist in the design verification and validation of new product designs
- Investigation / analysis of field failures and customer installations
- Involves some hands-on testing in vehicles (cars, vans and potentially trucks)
- Investigation / testing of new features for existing products
- Provide technical support to other teams within the business including support for third party products
Personal skills and experience
- Electronics diploma / degree qualified
- Aimed at a self-driven, practical, hardware focused engineer with 5+ years experience
- Electronic hardware designer familiar with schematic design (using standard CAD tools)
- Good understanding of embedded firmware and some experience of PC application development (C/C++/Python)
- Experienced use of CAD tools, electronic test equipment and, a soldering iron!
- Is confident communicating with staff across the company and also, directly with our customers
